Premises

The CCT premises are located on the north side of the campus overlooking Kappara and Wied Ghollieqa. A four-storey building (referred to as the CCT) houses the Educational Technology Area (cf. Faculty of Education), a computer laboratory with both IBM-compatible and Apple Machintosh machines, a printing area, an audio production area, a darkroom facility and a technical area on the ground level. An audio-visual library complementing the main library, a computer terminal laboratory and a multipurpose hall are located on the second level. The third level houses a boardroom, a teleconference room and offices. The fourth level houses language laboratory facilities, a seminar room and offices. (Should you require further information about the Language Laboratory please contact the Institute of Linguistics).

The design of the CCT building was entrusted to Prof. Richard England. Clearing of the building site started in November 1990. Site supervision was initially carried out by Mr. Emidio Attard, Buildings Officer of the University and then passed on to the Project Office when this office was created. CCT initiated its operations from the new building in February 1993.

The CCT is also charged with the management of instructional spaces for the University of Malta; which include two main buildings specifically dedicated for instruction: the Lecture Centre and the Gateway Building.
